This winter season here in Napa, we are yet again hoping for a season of true cold weather conditions and an abundance of rain. And while we’ll most likely at least get cooler temperatures, that’s a good enough reason for us to wear our winter coats and scarves. However, whether you’re here on the west or east coast, we all have become accustomed to reaching for the same neutral winter color palette and often fail to incorporate other colors that are often available but we tend to overlook.
Elegant versions of this feminine classic print can be found on silks, chiffon and accessories for fall and we’re loving them all (we love them so much it makes us rhyme…). Floral prints for fall offer a sophisticated feel, so any piece will make a great addition to your closet.
Fall is officially here. Cooler days (for the exception of this weekend here in Napa – 90’s? Really??) are to come and a warmer wardrobe is to be worn. I always love seeing what fun touches designers put on fall staples that will make me feel the need to run out and buy the latest updated peacoat (a hi-lo hem you say?) or new cable knit sweater (what’s that? A new shade of grey?). So as soon as we saw textured sweaters, peplum coats and heavenly cashmere scarves when we bought for fall this past February, we knew we already had chic cold weather essentials to look forward to.
Here are some of our favorite fall staples:
1. Ted Baker Vickiye cape – two words: instant chic.
2. Theodora and Callum scarf – warm color palette for a fun fall print.
3. Ted Baker Bracti peplum coat – feminine take on the winter coat.
4. Calypso cashmere scarf – the item you’ll reach for all season long.
5. Tory Burch Maxeen sweater coat – a cozy, casual option if you don’t want to fully commit to wearing a coat
6. Skull Cashmere fingerless gloves – when your fingers are cold, but you still have to answer emails on the go.
7. 360 Sweater oversize cowl neck sweater – the epitome of cozy; throw on with skinny denim and boots and you’ve found your fall go-to outfit.
Men’s fashion has become as relevant and evolved as women’s fashion in recent years. Many men’s designers are updating classic staples by using the softest fabrics and incorporating subtle details. We know guys like soft t-shirts as much as us ladies do, so when designers create soft as ever modal tees and french pants for guys or stitch a cool contrast color thread on their favorite button down, they’ve gotta have it. A few of our favorite designers like Ted Baker, Ben Sherman, Penguin and Vince, have set the tone for quality, comfort and style, that create the perfect balance of fashion and function for guys.
Today’s Chic of the Week from The PlumpJackSport fashionistas is the Color Block Wovens. We are just get giddy when new arrivals come to the store, and we’re especially excited about our collection of versatile and stylish fall pieces. Right now, we’re obsessing over color blocking. We think it’s a hot trend, no matter where you live.
We think the perfect silk top or dress is an ideal staple in every women’s wardrobe – they’re easy, timeless and feminine. Color blocking has
most recently made it’s way from woven’s to knit’s, and it’s the perfect way to add pops of contrasting colors to the pieces you wear everyday. Just look at the photos below to see how some of the top designers, who we carry, are doing it right.
We brought in a few of our favorite color blocked woven tops and dresses for fall, here at PlumpJackSport at The Carneros Inn, that can easily be paired with the bottoms and accessories you wear everyday. Some our picks that we carry come from VINCE, DVF, Parker Tallula and Ted Baker.
