Peaks and Paws Returns to Squaw

Squaw Valley’s summer of fun continues this weekend with the annual Peaks and Paws celebration. Bring yourself and your four legged-friends up to the mountains and stay at the areas only pet-friendly hotel, the PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn.

Activities begin Saturday at 11am with the “Mutt Strut”, a three kilometer walk or run with your pup beginning in the Village. Top finishers will win Squaw lift tickets and apparel.

Sunday’s “Fetch Fest” is sure to draw a crowd as dozens of tennis balls will be dumped into Cushing’s Pond to find out which dog can fetch out the most balls before the
clock strikes zero. To the winner goes a

Squaw Valley Pet Pass and to the winner’s human parents go more free lift tix.

Guided “Hike with your Pup” hikes will depart from the base of the cable car at 1pm both days. Music will play from 2-8 each day as well. The Dead Winter Carpenters, North Tahoe’s “Rollicking Americana Roots Rock Band” will headline Saturday from 6-8pm on the main stage in the village. Come, and be ready to move your body. And, since it’s a summer festival at Squaw Valley, beer and wine tasting will be ongoing throughout the weekend.

Drive up the hill and spend a carefree late summer weekend in Tahoe with your best friend. PlumpJack will take care of the details.
