PlumpJack volunteers only needed to see the smiling faces of the Holy Family Day Home preschool children to know how much they have to be thankful for this holiday season. On Tuesday, November 24th over 15 people from the PlumpJack Group volunteered at the Day Home to serve a Thanksgiving Feast to the children and staff. 2009 was the second year that PlumpJack has prepared a traditional Thanksgiving meal for close to 150 people and served it to the school, but the number of volunteers more than doubled since 2008.

"Serving at the Day Home was a wonderful opportunity to give people who may not be as fortunate as we are a chance to experience warmth and family during the holiday season," said Jonathan Mullinix of the PlumpJack Group Finance Team.
For more than 100 years, the Holy Family Day Home has been a pioneer in providing educational development for young children while nurturing positive interaction with their families. More than 70% of the students in the school are low to very-low income. The Day Home seeks to stop the cycle of poverty by providing affordable, high quality early childhood education and family support services.

Whether it be the team from Balboa Cafe in San Francisco who made Thanksgiving Day hats for the event, or Juan from the PlumpJack Maintenance Team who brought cheese and crackers for the children to take home, everyone from PlumpJack President Hilary Newsom to Balboa Cafe Mill Valley Manager Beth Anne and her daughter, Zoe, had an amazing start to their Thanksgiving Holiday.
Huge thanks to PlumpJack Cafe Chef Rick Edge for preparing all of the food for the event and Kristina Jetton and Milham Wakin for helping to transport the delicious meal.
